Can I play Yakuza 6 without playing anything else? Yes. Yakuza 6 goes a long way to bring in new players, with an extended opening sequence and options to help newbies learn about the world. Kiwami2 is the same, if you play it before 6, the gameplay from 6 will likely disappoint. IMHO the best way to play Yakuza is like an ouroboros, wherever you start, you're in the continuum. Things will surprise and delight you as callbacks from earlier games. Even if you miss these the first time through, play again.
