ap varus mid runes

ap varus mid runes - win

Each Special move used in the entire series so far (As of Prowling Anxiety) in order.

Crippling Depression (Varus)
First Appearance: New Varus Build
Use: Buffering the Ultimate while flashing to get more range on it
Fun Fact: Varus' special move list is called The Arsenal of Abnormalities

Psychotic Anxiety
First Appearance: Understanding Botlane
Use: Using flash to curve Pyke's e for style points or to gain more range to catch enemies just out of range

Autism Zone
First Appearance: Lethality Pyke
Use: Allows Papa to increase his Chromosomes tenfold for a short amount of time but is useless unless Papa already has a large amount ready.
Fun Fact: The name was later changed to Asberger Syndrome due to Copyright and Papa wanting to make a callback to the Nexus Blitz filler episode and was changed to only be allowed to access one at 80% or more autism level.

Forgotten Dememtia
First Appearance: Lethality Pyke
Use: Papa dashes with his E and uses his R to curve the phantom so it hits his opponent.

(Not a special move) Pink Pyke Cloak
First Appearance: ppp
Use: While wearing the Pink Pink Cloak Papa gains the power of gayness becoming so powerful that no words in the human vocabulary can describe him forcing the narrator to go silent while Papa wrecks his enemies
Fun Fact: I will be including characters different forms on this List.

(Not a special move) Blood Moon Pyke Skin
First Appearance: Blood Moon Pyke
Use: While in this form Papa's chromosome power is boosted however it requires a large amount of chromosomes to remain in this form.
Fun Fact: In order to gain access to this power Papa had to join the Blood Moon Clan and perform the ritual of paying the 5$ lifetime membership fee.

Crippling Depression (Pyke)
First Appearance: Pyke is very weak and definitely needs the buffs. Thank you League of Legends!
Use: Using flash to buffer the use on Pyke's q to get more range.

Menacing Menpause
First Appearance: Pyke is very weak and definitely needs the buffs. Thank you League of Legends!
Use: A 3 hit combo of Q, E backwards, Tiamat (or just a regular AA depending on the season) to proc Electrocute to get his target low enough for an execute with his R.
Fun Fact: This move probably changed the most during the series as its core component of Tiamat and sometimes even Electrocute were removed depending on how viable they were on Pyke. It is also the most usable of Pyke's Weapons of Disorder as it doesn't require flash or too many chromosomes.

Epileptic Epitaph
First Appearance: Clean Combos
Use: Allows Papa to see 10 seconds into the future. Papa can spend more chromosomes to see farther. Papa must already be at high chromosome levels to use Epileptic Epitaph although the exact level vary based on different translations, manga, or anime.
Fun Fact: Although it first appeared in Clean Combos Epileptic Epitaph was only scarsley used in episodes like The Duty of a Carry, Tenacity Stacking etc. and it didn't even get its name until Auto win at level 16. (It was just called precognative ability until then).

Chromosome Stealing
First Appearance: BAN SYLAS
Use: Being only usable by a select few characters It allows them to steal the chromosomes of other characters and gain the power of them.
Fun Fact: This ability was first used by Sylas and is the main reason he is my fav character. No other character (yes even Evil Morde and Evil Papa) made me feel so much dread when they appeared. The way he just ruthlessly stole WhyGuy's chromosomes still gives me chills each time i watch the episode. There are only 3 characters who have demonstrated having innatley having this ability (Sylas, Papa. Evil Papa).

The Snap
First Appearance: Tenacity Stacking
Use: At the Cost of 50% of the League playerbase WhyGuy can skip his Promos. This only works if Papa has been in The Hardstuck Zone for atleast a month and if Papa recieves a comment asking for more cliffhangers.

Shining Jaundice
First Appearance: Well Designed Item
Use: Using either the Stopwatch or Zhonya's Hourglass the user's skin becomes golden protecting them from any harm for 2.5.
Fun Fact: Anyone can use this special move and it was used throughout the entire series but first got a name in the episode Well Designed Item.

Lazy Editing
First Appearance: Return to Masters
Use: At the cost of 88% Autism level WhyGuy can erase the process of a game skipping it entirely.
Fun Fact: Papa's most costly move which has only been used once in the entire series so far.

Death Realm Warp
First Appearance: Well Designed Rework
Use: Usable only by the current Ruler of the Death realm (Currently Mordekaiser) it allowes them to warp themselves and 1 other person into the death realm for 1 on 1 combat within a confined space
Fun fact: It's time for most peoples favorite villain: Evil Mordekaiser! While I personally like Sylas more, the sheer power Mordekaiser presents from here on out towards the entire series unquestionably makes him a very close second.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (or ADHD for short)
First Appearance: Well Designed Rework
Use: A move created by Papa specifically to counter Morde's Death Realm Warp which puts his body in constant motion becoming UNCONTAINABLE.
Fun Fact: One of Papa's most worthless moves due to only being a counter to 1 specific thing makes this move very weak. But the fact that someone forced Papa to create an entirely new move speaks volumes for Morde himself. What a shame that this move is very easily countered.

Tourettic Transition
First Appearance: Pyka and Sona Bot Lane
Use: At the cost of Autism Levels Papa can skip anywhere betweeen 10 seconds and 20 minutes of a game.
Fun Fact: Like Epileptic Epitaph this ability appeared a long time before it actually got its name in Harvesting my adversaries with Dark Harvest Pyke.

Crippling Anxiety
First Appearance: Pyka and Sona Bot Lane
Use: A combo move where Papa and Varus combine the moves Crippling Depression and Psychotic Anxiety to form a new even more powerful move.
Fun Fact: This is the very first combo move used in the series and I must say that it's pretty cool.

Dead Weight
First Appearance: Mordekaiser's Revenge
Use: This move enhances the users desire to strategically iINT without getting banned
Fun Fact: This move is most often used in the series by villains and very rarely by allies of Whydra.

Radiating Retardation
First Appearance: Dominating with Domination Runes
Use: The users chromosomes increase by 3 for every second that passes while in this state.
Fun Fact: This move can be techincally used even at low Autism Levels but due to it's high cost when you leave this state it's very unsafe to use it while below 90% Autism Levels.

(Not a special move) Project Pyke Suit
First Appearance: PROJECT: Pyke
Use: When wearing this cybernetic form Papa stays at a permanent 80% Autism level and has a permanent Epileptic Epitaph installed. The suit also has a built-in casette player and a navigation assistant.
Fun Fact: Papa rarely uses this suit after its first appearance even after it was cleansed of the virus due to the fact that Papa prefers the risk of losing Autism levels for the reward of more than 80% than the safetey of a permanent 80%. Evil WhyGuy also wears a pink chroma on his suit to combine the powers of the PROJECT Suit and the ppc (Pink Pyke Cloak).

Cybernetic Anxiety
First Appearance: Mama vs Papa of Realm 51
Use: PROJECT Pyke's version of Psychotic Anxiety.
Fun Fact: We don't know which of the 2 moves is stronger but my guess is it depends on the amount of chromosomes the current user has.

Technostressing Depression
First Appearance: Mama vs Papa of Realm 51
Use: PROJECT Pyke's version of Crippling Depression.

Diminishing Discrimination
First Appearnace: League of Legends makes me sad
Use: After landing her Q Mama smashes her keyboard with utmost finesse dealing massive damage and enlightening teammates that Supports should not be underestimated.
Fun Fact: Mama has decided that instead of focusing on various diffeerent moves for different situations she will just perfect 1 move that can be used in any situation. I am still sad that this means we will most likely never see the other moves in the Feminist Movement though (Whining Wamen, Bobcut buster, Entitled Endurance).

Cultural Appropiration
First Appearance: Swain OP! Must ban instead of Pyke
Use: By becoming a bird himself Papa enducated uncultured 2 birds with his might showing them the power of Swain.
Fun Fact: I only put this on the list due to a YouTube comment as I don't even really see this as a special move.

Vision of Whydra
First Appearance: YouTube comments made me a better Swain player
Use: Thanks to the help of all Swain mains within Whydra Papa unlocked his 2nd move in The Communist Manifesto where he hits an enemy with his full power W changing the game according to his vision.
Fun Fact: Welcome to Swain's own set of special moves: The Communist Manifesto.

Cold War
First Appearance: Game Changing Snipes
Use: With the help of a german science device, Papa shoots out icicles while in his ultimate form running at them with Appreach Velocity.

Death Defying Time Skip
First Appearance: Deadliest Weight
Use: With the help of an Ad Papa skips his own death
Fun Fact: Once again I am hesitant to even include this as it is more of a flashy way of using Tourettic Transition.

Blighting Vasectomy
First Appearance: The Arrow of Retribution Returns
Use: Hitting an enemy with a fully charged Q while his W is up to completely destroy a far away enemy

Crippling Vasectomy
First Appearance: Autofilled Varus Mid
Use: Similar to Blighting Vasectomy but now with Flash added in for more range.

Sniping Seizure
First Appearance: Sentinels of Light vs Shadow Isles
Use: Senna shoots a blast of combined Light and Darkness at a far away low hp enemy killing them with so much power that PaMa (Papa and Mama) undergoes a short seizure from the satisfaction.

Reverse Your Kill
First Appearance: Insane Healing with Fleet Footwork
Use: Using Piercing darkness while imbued with the power of Fleet Footwork, taste of Blood and Adent Censer, Senna overcomes the weakness of being squishy with massive healing powers.

Wildfire Windup
First Appearance: AP Maokai with Ocean Rift is Free Win
Use: A combo of TreeGuy's non-ultimate abilities starting with Twisted Advance, Brambly Smashing his target near his Sapling burning the target's body on a molecular level so fast like a Wildfire
Fun Fact: Behold TreeGuy's special moves: The Armaments of Nature!

Forest Grump
First Appearance: AP Maokai with Ocean Rift is Free Win
Use: TreeGuy's version of Crippling Depression where he flashes and then Twisted Advances for a suprise root.

(Not a special move) Reforest Frustration
First Appearance: AP Maokai with Ocean Rift is Free Win
Use: A passive ability where WhyGuy's chomosomes sync with nature giving him more options to plant empowered saplings while frustrating his enemies.

Rheumatic Roots
First Appearance: AP Maokai with Ocean Rift is Free Win
Use: Using Nate's Grasp out of vision to catch the enemy off guard and root 3 or more enemies.
Fun Fact: This move is best used when contesting Objectives.

(Not a special move) Amazon Bushfire
First Appearance: Bites the Bush
Use: Used by Evil Papa to burn the entire Rift reducing the amount of bushes and limiting TreeGuy's power.

Bites the Bush
First Appearance: Bites the Bush
Use: Using Epileptic Epitaph Papa forsees someone entering a specific bush at low health and plants a Sapling in preparation to utterly annihilate them.
Fun Fact: This easily lands in my top 5 moves just for the amazing effects the anime used to show it's power.

Psychotic Assault
First Appearance: Getting my Pyke back in shape
Use: A variation of Psychotic Anxiety where he hits someone with his q before his e to do more damage.

Forgotten Dementia: Ultima
First Appearance: OMNISTONE
Use: A variation on Forgotten Dementia which involves Pyke's Q

Pedophiliac Predator
First Appearance: OMNISTONE
Use: WhyGuy's pedophiliac tendancies spread across the Rift warning any nearby enemies that enter his vicinity.

Sedentary Stroke
First Appearance: Easy Executes with Dark Harvest
Use: By standing completely still Papa managed to perfectly blend into the background

Crippling Counter
First Appearance: Omnistone Sett
Use: By filling Sett's testosterone gauge up to 75% papa blasts his enemies in a wide radius dealing true damage to those caught in the middle
Fun Fact: Meet Sett a.k.a. Testosterone Furry

Paraplegic Pursuit
First Appearance: Hexflash Powerspike
Use: A fully channeled Hexflash followed by a burst of movement speed from Nimbus Cloak, Celerity and Sett's Q

Prowling Anxiety
First Appearance: Prowling Anxiety
Use: Extending the reach of Psychotic Anxiety with the use of Prowler's Claw

In-depth AP Varus setup guide

I see a lot of AP Varus players going with (imo) wrong skill order, runes and builds so I thought I'll share my opinion here. I've theorycrafted this a lot and tried it a lot in-game too, but I feel like I want the opinions of other Varus enthusiasts too so, please, leave some comments. I'm gonna try to answer as soon as my schedule allows me to.
I will be talking about Midlane AP Varus specifically, but most things are the same for Bot and Top as well, I will talk about the differences in your setup for other lanes after I "draw the picture" with the Midlane setup.
Runes:
Attack speed + Adaptive force + ArmoMR depending on your laning opponent.
1.-Hail of blades
Primary: Hail of blades->Taste of blood->Eyeball collection->Ravenous hunter
Precision: Legend alacrity->Cut down
Notes: Basic AP Varus runes, good in all scenarios, not much else to say.
2.-Press the attack
Primary: Press the attack->Triumph->Legend alacrity->Cut down
Domination: Taste of blood->Ravenous hunter
Notes: Really good if enemies have tanky/immobile champions and you can consistently and safely get 3 autos off on them even without the Hail of blades. More damage mid-late game, especially against tanks. Triumph > Presence of mind for 2 reasons: if you use your Q/E only to shove the wave or lasthit without hitting the enemy champ, you don't get the mana regen. The second reason is that you can get blue buffs so the 15% mana recovery on takedown isn't needed for teamfights.
Skill order:
Q->W->E (R on 6/11/16 obviously)
You obviously want to max W second to get as much damage as possible from it as soon as you start finishing your big AP items. No point in maxing it first since it only gives you 1 (one) magic damage on hit per ability level and 1,5% max HP damage from proccing a 3-stack Blight which is only around 10-25 magic damage this early in the game.
Now why max Q over E first? Basically you want to proc your blight stacks with Qs as much as you can since it now amplifies the Blight damage, so you really want it on a lower cooldown, CD goes down by 1,5s per ability level. Besides that it gives you 36-55 (based on charge duration) physical damage per level and also a little more total AD ratio. Also it lets you shove waves quicker since you can hit the whole wave as it is coming, compared to hitting only 3-4 with E. Since you're gonna be starting with either Cull or Doran's blade your Q packs quite a punch early game, especially if used with W active on low HP targets. Mana cost only goes up by 5 per ability level, you can deal with that, if not, just hit up your jungler and hope he gives you a blue buff.
Maxing E only gives you 40 physical damage, 5% stronger slow and -2s cooldown per ability level which in my opinion doesn't outweigh what you get from maxing Q first. Then again, you really want the Q cooldown to be as low as possible in teamfights.
Summoner spells:
Flash+BarrieTeleport/Heal/Cleanse
I'm not gonna go deep with this one since it's not specific for this build. Take a look at your laning opponent's champ, their teamcomp and choose accordingly. Just don't take ignite, low range and you already have Grievous wounds on your E.
Item build:
You want to start with either Cull, Corrupting potion or Doran's blade every game.I like to start with Cull a lot, it allows you to get your items faster and also gives you some early AD. When starting with Cull, take Barrier against bursty champs so you won't get oneshot or Teleport against poke champs so you can go back to heal and grab some pots and TP back to lane.
Starting with Corrupting potion is fine against poke champs like Xerath/Vel'Koz etc but I personally found it better in most cases to just get the Cull with Teleport and go back early with 450g to buy Refillable potion + Boots so you can dodge their poke easier.
Doran's blade is honestly not that good but if you are against some champ that has a weak early game and you really want to fight him early as much as you can just go for it. I pretty much only buy it into Kassadin but you absolutely demolish his early game with it, might be good against some other champs too, not enough testing from my side on this one.
After the starting item, the build is gonna be almost the same every game:
Boots->Nashor's tooth->Riftmaker->Rabadon's deathcap->Void staff->Horizon focus
You should upgrade Boots into Sorcerer's shoes somewhere between finishing your Nashor's and finishing your Rabadon's, depends on how much gold you have when you go back/die.
Feel free to buy Horizon focus before Void staff if your enemies don't have a lot of MR.
Feel free to change boots for Cosmic drive lategame if you have nothing better to do with the gold.
Elixir of sorcery is your elixir of choice every time, as with most mages.
I don't like buying Mejai's soulstealer on Varus because you can get blown up pretty easily, but hey, if you're ahead it can give you a really early power spike on Nashor's + Mejai's even before you get your mythic (Riftmaker).
Other roles:
On botlane just take heal as your second summoner spell, go with the Hail of blades rune setup and change Cut down to Presence of mind or Coup de grace and start with Doran's blade, everything else stays the same.
I strongly advise you not to go toplane because you get ganked and dived really easily but if you really want to ruin some tank player's day then go with the Press the attack rune setup and maybe change the Taste of blood to Cheap shot for some more poke damage with your E. Always get Teleport as the second summoner spell, everything else stays the same.
EDIT: Formatting, formatting and more formatting...
Forgot to mention one thing for the early game:
Never buy a Dark seal early. It is good on most mages and it amplifies the healing from your potions, but it makes your Adaptive force rune swap from AD to AP which is pretty bad early game. Same logic goes for not buying the Amplifying tome alone when building Nashor's tooth, just wait until you have enough gold to buy at least Blasting wand + Amplifying tome before swapping your Adaptive force rune to AP.

Tank Ekko lives! (situationally)

Hello fellow Ekko mains!
Don't be fooled by the title. I believe that Rocketbelt-Nashors is way too good to pass up in most scenarios. 99% of the time you should probably be building these items as they are your core and the best items that Ekko can buy to function how he wants to. With that being *said*, i've been pivoting to a tank/bruiser build when 3 of the 5 following points have been met and i thought i'd share my success:
  1. Enemy team carries have self-peel (Ashe, Varus, Anivia, etc.)
  2. You have a composition that requires space to function (Kog lulu, twitch, gangplank graves, etc.)
  3. By the time of first back, you are behind or even with a champion that is approaching an early powerspike that can aggressively trade and zone you off of the wave (Azir, lucian, basically any mid laner that wants to shove and trade)
  4. your frontline either wants to build some damage or will be underleveled (amumu, support tanks not named leona)
  5. You believe that fights will be very drawn out and you won't be able to reach a carry to burst.
Okay so core build here is Funfire wincape-Demonic embrace, runes stay the same as the regular build as this is a build i usually pivot to based on game state. However, if i make a decision (rarely rarely rarely) in loading screen to rush funfire i will take phase rush or conqueror depending on what i want to do (be very sticky or sustain through long fights)
3-6 items are situational, if vs heavy AP i like the new Abyssal Mask as it synergizes very well with funfire and demonic embrace. If i'm splitpushing alot i like Nashors. If i need to buy more time Zhonyas. If i'm literally the only melee champion, gargoyles. If i want to become speed itself, cosmic drive. You get the idea. Once you get Wincape-Demonic you spike pretty well. Ive even had flashbacks of old tank ekko a few times.

Anyways, try it out and let me know what you guys think!

[theoricraft] analysis of Jinx new build and combo

Preliminary word.

It’s a lot of text so I choose to not add all the math, and I have to change a few things after the last hotfix that nerf Guinsoo. I don’t explain how to magically gain 200 LP.
Jinx has been hit hard by the crit nerf. She lose nearly 20% damages in a full build.
I will start this post by saying there’s a lot of fake “good idea” so I will try to explain them. I will start with explanation on the Ravenous Hydra + Runaan combo, then Guinsoo versus IE and after that I will detail some item (Mythic and Legendary). In the ends, I will suggest some build..

Part 1: analysis

Ravenous Hydra + Runaan Hurricane combo

Ravenous Hydra is a item with AD & Omnivamp that deal an splash damage around the main target. It’s now available to ranged and synergies well with Runaan like most on-hit effect. The AoE range is 350 units and the damage scale from 60% to 12% based on distance from the center.
Runaan Hurricane get some base AD and is now scaling from 40% to 70% based on level.
The combo is exactly like Jinx’s rocket combo but everythings is in the difference.
  1. It work well with Fishbones: 110% main target and 170% to 122% splash damage. The AoE is bigger than the main damage.
  2. It work well with PowPow: 100% main target + 60% to 12% splash damage. It benefit from Switcheroo! AS bonus (up to 130%).
  3. Fishbone’s Rocket AoE is only 150 unites. Ravenous + Runaan combo is way more easier to do than Jinx combo. *sad*
  4. Ravenous splash damage can’t crit but work well with Guinsoo.
In game, the combo work well in teamfight and for waveclear. But it’s much better on Guinsoo user like Varus more than Crit champion. Also the damage isn’t that big because the scaling drop quickly with range and the overlapping is near max range, limiting it’s power.
Finally, the lack of Critical Strical make it an item too build when full build.
TLDR:

Guinsoo Rageblade versus Infinity Edge

The big crit nerf change a few things. It take 5 items to get 100% crit and the base Critical Strike Damage is only 175. It’s slower and less effective to be effective with a crit build.
Even more, Infinity Edge’s effect is now scaling from +50% to 8% every 20% crit, capping at +40% at 100% crit. It means that crit will only do at best 215% damages instead of 250%.
In short, most soloQ will end before capping crit.
Guinsoo Rageblade introduce an interesting change. It change Critical Strike Chance to be an on-hit effect instead of a damage scaling buff. With the last hotfix, it do 2 damage per 1% Critical Strike Chance. It still have the double on-hit every 3 auto-attacks.The down side is that it don’ have any AD.Guinsoo is also relatively cheap at 2800 golds (after hotfix) making it really effective early items to buy.
But Jinx’s rockets on-hit effect (+10% AD and splash damage) don’t work with the Phantom Hit that double every 3 attacks. It’s not a bug but a balance choice. A 220% AoE that can crit can be difficult to balance when you can cast 1.5 rockets per second.
Their is a theoric break point when IE began to be better than Guinsoo. And for Jinx, it’s a 3 items (Kraken+Runaan+IE/Guinsoo) with 437 damage versus 400 damage (against 0 armor). And thee choice of Kraken is in Guinsoo favor.
For completion, I also test Guinsoo+Runaan+Hydra. The result give 319 damages per attacks but the lack of AD really show in Rockets form and with Zap.
TLDR:

Attack Speed cap

Jinx will hit the Attack Speed cap (2.5 att/s) earlier than in previous season. The cap can be reach at 2 items (Mythic item+Runaan) and boots, with any AS boost (ardent, etc), Lethal Tempo or Get Excited.
And with Kraken Slayer, the 3 attack/s (with Lethal Tempo or Get Excited) can be reached with only 4 items.
In that case, there’s a few do/don’t:

Runes

There’s little change for Jinx’s rune, along what I said just above.
I think Gathering Storm might be a little better over the free boots for 2 reasons. First, with Galeforce, boots will be optional past 3 items. Secondly, Jinx need to snowball or wait the late game. In this case, the free AD from Gathering Storm will help a lot.

Part 2: items explanation

Mythic items

First, a word on Eclypse. It’s an items that give you 55AD, 10% Omnivamps, 18 Lethality and a scaling of 4% Armor penetration per Legendary item (16% with 4 items). The effect give you a shield, on-hit damage that scale on enemy’s max HP and 15% MS.It’s actually the best offensive Mythic Items by far, even after today hotfix.I don’t take it into account here because it don’t have crit and it shouldn’t be an ADC item. But Riot 200 years of collective knowledge have say better. I will give a build for it at the end.
Kraken Slayer is the mythic item to choose by default. Good stat, best scaling (10% AS per Legendary) and true damage to be pass tank armor.
Immortal Shield-Bow is the defensive choice with Life Steal. The shield will save you from an assassin (not from being too greedy) and it give 5 AD and 50 HP per Legendary. The AD is good but the HP have a down side because of Dominik’s passive.
Galeforce look interesting on paper but is lacking in-game. The dash might save you and the proc damage is good. But I think using it offensively is just suicide. The scaling MS is the worst.Everyone seem to forget that there’s 2 caps on movement speed (at 415 MS and 490 MS). It can help in team fight but compared to 20% AS or 10 AD/100HP, I’m not sure it’s worth.
TLDR:
  1. Kraken Slayer - best choice
  2. Immortal Shield-Bow - defensive choice.
  3. Galeforce - situational choice.

Legendary items

Runaan Hurricane: it’s our 2nd items. It now give AD and the bolt now scale up to 70% at level 18. But the prize is now 3400 gold.
Stormrazor: don’t change but is way cheaper at 2700 gold. It’s a good option to get some poke with Energize. But it don’t give any movement speed.
With crit on everythings, there’s a lot of new option.
RFC and Phantom Dancer, like Guinsoo, don’t give AD. So it change them from good items choice to situational choice.
Here’s a few option for 3rd items
Infinity Edge: it’s the core 3rd items but it can be delayed for other item if needed. It’s less mandatory than before.
Lord Dominik’s Regards: The Giant Slayer effect is back. I think it’s nearly mandatory as soon as there’s 2 ennemis with more than 3500 HP and at least one armor item.
Bloodthirster : IT now give crit and that change everythings. The life steal and the shield stack with Immortal Shield-Bow.
The Collector: this new item is the greed choice. It give AD, crit and lethality. Contrary to Dominik’s who is good against tank, The Collector is better against squishy. It gave an execute effect that kill champion under 5% HP. The synergies is obvious with Mega Death Rocket but it work with every things (Zap, Chompers, Red buff, …). The 25 golds on kill make it the perfect 3rd item for snowballing.
Defensive items do have interesting change too.
Mercurial Scimitar: it now give Crit instead of Life Steal so QSS tax is really limited.
Mortal Reminder: It don’t give Armor Penetration but AS, Crit and 7% MS. So it can be build along Dominik’s. In some match-up, it might be the best 3rd items.
Guardian Angel: it gain 5 AD.
Death’s Dance : big change, it won’t heal alone. Buy a BT first.
Last items are options for very late when the game can be win or lose over 1 teams fight.
Ravenous Hydra: The combo with Runaan is huge.
BOTRK: I put it here because it don’t have crit and it’s not the best items on Jinx. But the 10% current HP on-hit is huge, even more with all those tanking item with ton of HP.

Part 3: builds

2 items Core builds

The 2 items core build is a Mythic + Runaan + Berserker boots. It’s not cheap but Jinx isn’t really an Early-Mid champion.

3rd or 4th Items

The keyword here is adaptation.

Full builds

The most damaging 5-items build:
  1. Kraken Slayer
  2. Runaan Hurricane
  3. Infinity Edge
  4. Lord Dominik’s Regard
  5. Bloodthirster or The Collector
  6. Berserker’s Graves
If you want to sell boots:

Part4: Eclipse build

Thanks Riot for broken OP item. Until it’s fixed, everything's explained is wrong if you use Eclypse.
Armor Penetration is multiplicative but the mythic scaling is additive.
So with 4 legendary item and Dominik’s, the Armor Penetration is :
1-(1-0.25)*(1-0.16) = 1-0.63 = 37%
So here’s a build for Eclipse:
  1. Eclypse
  2. Runaan
  3. Guinsoo
  4. Dominik’s / Ravenous Hydra
  5. Dominik’s / Ravenous Hydra
  6. Berserker Graves
edit: Eclipse isn't that broken because the effect cooldown is 12s on ranged.edit #2 : crit is still better at 4 items and later.

Part5: Conclusion

Please Riot, buff Fishbone’s rocket slash damage range to 300 or 400 units.
There’s other things can be done, balanced, etc but 1 item is putting the signture combo of a champion to shame.

Fionn:
  • A group that can actually happen at Worlds: Damwon, JDG, G2, TSM
Analyst Desk (Missed most of it)::
TL Draft Strategy:
  • Secure CoreJJ Counterpick
  • Utility bot lane champ
  • Non-volatile early game
  • Front to back teamfighting
TSM Draft:
  • Secure top lane counterpick
  • Blind mid lane champ for Bjergsen
  • Speed pace of the game
  • No dragon stacking
Predictions:
  • Crumbz: TSM 3-1 | Pr0lly TSM 3-2 | Markz TSM 3-2
Tim Sevenhuysen:
Rogue:
  • The Riot Script wanted us to lose because @TSM will win #LCS. We tried our best to fight it but they really want us in the same #Worlds2020 group.
Goldenglue:
  • Predictions: TL 3-2 TSM but tbh I would prefer to watch TSM vs FLY then TL vs FLY again
Dash:
  • TSM 3-1 is my call today! Would love a full 5 game series though :)

GAME 1

DURING DRAFT

LS w/ Shrimp & Crownie:
  • LS: Doesn't like that TL pick Ashe into Senna.
  • Crownie: Agrees. It's not good.
  • LS: Vel'koz would've been a great pick for TL in place of Azir
  • LS: TSM have a very cookie cutter comp.
  • LS: AP Kog could've been good for TL too.
  • All: TSM win draft.
IWD w/ Caedrel and Febiven :
  • Teams don't care about Akali/Irelia from TSM anymore it seems.
  • Take Senna for Ashe every time. Good for TSM
  • All: TSM hard win draft based on the first 3 picks from each side.
Empyre (Co-stream):
  • TSM should ban Cait/Kalista. Maybe throw in a jungle ban with those 2. Just copy what FLY did.
  • Post-draft: TSMWIN
  • TSM is probably more prepared to play Lucian/Eve than TL is.
TL Steve:
  • Here we go
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • TSM lane kingdom draft against TL hard-smash 5v5 comp. Up to Impact to survive the top side pressure probably. #LCS
Phreak:

Empyre (Twitter):
  • TL drafted fine (scaling per usual), they've been messy in the early game but as long as they reach their item points safely and follow the rules of their comp, they can win this game at 30+ mins #LCS

DURING GAME

RUNE
IWD w/ Caedrel and Febiven (don't 100% know their voices yet, correct me if im wrong)
  • IWD: TL's bot lane is losing 2v2? Okay TL just lose. This is with counterpick support (~3:30)
  • Caedrel: Leona hit box is crazy. That flew past my window and hit Ashe! (~5:20)
  • Febiven: I never built team because... the game would be lost before it was even complete :(
  • IWD: What am I watching (~9:30 Lee smite steals Harold and then doesn't kick to finish Spica, Spica then flashes in and neither die.)
  • Caedrel: Agrees, thinks Broxah could've justt one shotted Spica and got out.
  • IWD: Jensen making his presence known against Bjerg (~11:45 gets his flash). TSM have to do something with their comp. If they wait for 5v5 it might be hard.
  • IWD: What was that arrow?? Watch out Caedrel is might hit you. Caedrel: Oh, I just dodged it (~12:35 Tactical with the wide arrow in the team fight)
  • Caedrel: BB has to go in to stop the TP because he can't match it. Probably could've made it out though. (~12:35)
  • Febiven: Yeah he could've just walked to blast cone and avoided another tower shot.
  • Super clean kick flash from Broxah. TSM win anyways. Jensen died for free by saving his flash Q+E (~20)
  • Upgraded Rabadon on Jensen now.. really huge. (~31)
  • All: This fight is so bad from both sides. Especially from Impact (~32 Elder fight at mid)
  • Great flash flank by BB. Kills Lee Sin (mid fight with Elder up)
  • Caedrel: TSM's draft was crazy. GG (33min TSM win a fight at mid and get bot inhib and Baron/Elder)
  • Febiven: Impossible to play for TL at this point. Look at both comps. Azir was so bad into TSM's comp. No real front line to stop TSM from flash engaging on him. (~35 game end)
  • Febiven: They need to ban Syndra from Bjerg
  • IWD: I don't think Syndra was the issue here man...
LS w/ Crownie, Shrimp, Sanchovies
  • LS: TSM for sure win. They have my Grandmother.
  • LS: Look at Lee here... he's gonna walk up.... and leash the camp for Nidalee (Spica) lol (~6)
  • Crownie/Max: Ornn gave up bot turret for free since he walked up for Herald when he didn't need to (~16)
  • LS: Why is Tactical a null magic mantle?? Crownie: QSS? LS: QSS 2nd? He has cleanse...
  • LS: TSM are just going to play slowly for Ocean soul (~18:30)
  • Liandries for Nidalee is bad. Can't proc the enhanced passive consistently (~24:40)
  • Jensen ran it down but TSM still lose the fight since Ornn won it for them. (~25:50)
  • TSM get soul so it should be GG but TL has Ornn items. Baron shouldn't matter for TL (~26:30)
  • Shrimp: Look at Lee... (~28 Broxah in the back while TL dies in red jungle)
  • Max: Look at Lee Sin... look at him go... (replay of the fight in TSM red jungle)
  • LS: TSM win another fight but TL still has one more chance. Jensen gets deathcap and that's a huge damage spike.
LS: "TSM! TSM! TSM!" (35min TSM win)
Malaclypse:
*Ocean soul is nice but that's not killing this Ornn and I don't see TSM doing it either (TSM get soul)
  • Well I guess I saw how they kill Ornn LOL
Azael:
  • TSM has a 100% winrate with a lead of 3 dragons to 0 this split. Having a 3-0 lead forces your opponents to fight at every dragon whether they have no setup for it or not, whether they're behind on items or not & that's usually enough to close. Let's see if it holds true!
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • TSM's setback at Herald 1 probably costs them this game.
    • Empyre: Yeah it did. TSM needs to abuse their item spikes for the third drake if TL decide to force there (even though TL shouldn't and can wait till 4th drake)

C9 Vulcan:
  • haha how can u give bjergsen akali zoe syndra zilean irelia leblanc orianna XD
Markz:
  • TSM is really, really overhyped by the community. It's so insane to me. They're a good team, but they're not really as good as the reddit or twitter community thinks they are. (Quoting Jensen)
  • Love r5 braum when you had side selection Upside-down face Sure BB isn't guaranteed counterpick, but you give up ADC pinch by needing to ban cait. What did red give TL that they couldn't have gotten on blue? Really hated that draft by TL.
    • Azael: I understand not liking it but I also think this is about as TL of a draft as you can get. They pretty much always go for these type of heavy Frontline w/ scaling backline comps & just look to out team fight every game. Same thing they've done all split long! Seems expected.
  • That's exactly my point. You can get literally all of that on blue, while forcing TSM to pick up the cait ban and FP your own ADC and pinch DL. BLue has 60% winrate and is favored unless you do something unique. You get literally nothing out of red side and you sack power picks.
    • Azael: Yeah red side is useless for them because they do the same thing every game. Just go for power picks on blue since BB doesn't play tanks you won't get top lane counter w/ morde or GP which are the only top lane counters Impact really plays.
Azael:
  • TL: Leaves Syndra Open Bjergsen: Okay, get in.
    • Scarra: same pic when bjerg picks zil tbh
  • Same pic when Bjergsen plays league of legends this playoffs it feels like
Empyre:
  • Next game, TL should pick blue side and prio Senna. They're not a team that can make use of counterpick imo. Also makes it harder for TSM to ban everything vs. TL.
  • Alternatively, can ban Senna on blue like vs. FLY and prio Ashe. Either way blue fits them a lot better.
IWD w/ Caedrel & Febiven:

Amazing:
  • TSM improving this much over the course of playoffs makes me excited to see them at worlds - out of all the 3 NA teams I do think they have the highest ceiling, and I don't think they've even gotten close to fulfilling it
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • Put Broxah on Sejuani and let him throw a few ults

GAME 2

DURING DRAFT

LS w/ Crownie, Max, Sanchovies
  • LS: Lucian ban makes sense since in order to pick it Broxah needs to play a mage and he can't play carry mages in the jungle.
  • LS: Why is Ashe Thresh picked from TL? What does it do? Why not just pick a mage in the bot lane or even Varus.
  • LS: If Jensen had Blitz.gg he would dodge because he'd see that Broxah can't play anymore champs after these bans.
  • Crownie: Might be a Kha'zix angle for Broxah
  • Max: TL would've won if they picked Hecarim in place of Lee Sin last game.
  • LS: Top Kindred is really good as a last pick for TL.
Sneaky & Meteos:
  • Meteos: Looking at the team comps. TL are putting all their eggs in the Broxah basket. Everything else is utility. It's on Broxah to carry but his Hecarim looks really sketchy
    • Sneaky: Yeah it's weird to see this, Broxah isn't really the carry on the team. Doesn't really fit their playstyle. Maybe they refined it?
Empyre:
  • TL picks TF and Thresh to have more agency in the early game to play toward topside ...And then pick Ornn top (while Sett showing)! Nice! TF wants to FF his life here. Good from TSM to flex Sett top and counter Hecarim.
Goldenglue:
  • Kk nvm TSM 3-0 these drafts ain't it

DURING GAME

RUNES
Sneaky and Meteos:
  • Sneaky: Broxah kind of just farms and is never really the primary carry, which Hecarim is.
  • Surprised there wasn't a kill there at (~3:25 mid gank on Bjergsen)
  • Meteos: Olaf level 5 is so much weaker than Olaf at 6. 5 seems like a key vulnerable spot for Olaf. (~5:30)
  • Sneaky/Meteos: Working towards a TSM jungle kingdom with how Spica is playing so far (~6:30) but Olaf isn't really a late game carry like Hecarim is. Olaf is for pushing leads for other team members (early power + great at taking dragons)
  • Meteos: 7:20 Cool early sightstone technique from CoreJJ. You use a charge to take a cannon bot, and then roam mid to take the cannon there.
  • Meteos: If Thresh wasn't there, Olaf probably 2v1s there (~15:50)
  • Sneaky: TL has Ornn items for scaling but Senna/Azir is really strong late game.
  • Total disaster teamfight for TSM (~18)
  • Going to be really rough for TSM from here on out with TL's lead. Seems kind of doomed. (20:30)
  • Meteos: How can TSM even fight with this comp at this point? Olaf/BB want to go in but they're not tanky enough to survive being shredded. (~25) AziSenna can't really do anything.
  • 32 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH (BB TP)
LS w/ Crownie, Sanchovies, Max
  • Great gank from Broxah (~3:30) but he is sinning with the clear path he did.
  • LS: TSM are on track to get infernal soul but there comp doesn't use it well. (~7)
  • LS: (9:40) Why does TSM commit there? They have a ward on it? Now they're behind.
  • Max: ~12 Hard for TSM to win that specific fight because TF arrives so quickly to fights.
  • LS: ~12:20 DL sniped Broxah with ult! Actually huge! That could be drag for TSM
  • Shrimp/Max: Evelynn might've been good here for TSM. Lilia too but Evelynn is better. (~22) Chat is saying that TF is good into Eve but Eve can just one shot TF.
  • 32 OOOOOOOOOOHHHH
  • That was the best facebreaker I've ever seen (32 BB TP). Would've been huge if they aced them there.
  • Game is over, they take about trivia and the numbers in pi for the rest of the game.
Malaclypse:
  • corejj and jensen gap (~19)
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • Jensen is hard-carrying on Twisted Fate as a team fighter. Tells you a lot about his style of play! (He's ulting into fights, yes, but most of his influence has been from landing stuns and Qs.)
    • Pastrytime: Classic Really Far Cardcannon continuing to put in work that game.
Veigarv2:
  • i think spellbook tahm would be good in this game no? lane cant be that unlaneable without guardian no? having TP vs tf roams and cleanse vs ashe tf thresh is rlly big. #LCS @Biofrostlol
Azael:
  • I like seeing Jensen on something with the ability to affect the map. He's a fantastic side laner & has the ability to absolutely take over games. TL needs more players to step up and make things happen & Jensen playing TF gives him the ability to do it.
Shakarez:
  • Core J J
Empyre:
  • Two games in a row TSM throws at Herald woo.
  • they want to snowball, but they screwed it up. TL comp is better overall until maybe TSM reach 4 items.(~10min)
Gilius:
  • 3-0 TSM?
Markz:
  • LMAO DL only Senna ults for cleanup.

POST GAME

Post Game Stats
Sneaky & Meteos
  • Sneaky: Game was over... as soon as I realized TSM's comp was dog shit.
  • Meteos/Sneaky: Herald fights are always super awkward from TSM these games.
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • Anyone who was getting ready to use game 1 as evidence that Bjergsen > Jensen, make sure you weigh game 2 just as heavily. To be clear: neither player was bad in their losses; they just lacked opportunities to do anything really meaningful. Both hard-carried their wins
TSM Report:
  • We stumble in Game 2 and now look to bounce back in Game 3 as the series is even at 1-1
TL Steve:
  • We need your energy
    • Random twitter comment: would you agree that peter carried you for 2 years?
  • Fuck no
Markz:
  • TSM is really, really overhyped by the community. It's so insane to me. They're a good team, but they're not really as good as the reddit or twitter community thinks they are. (Quoting Jensen)
Empyre:
  • (in response to his draft reaction): Not cool not being able to use TF to kill Sett on sidelane because you pick tank top :/
    • Malaclypse: TF is more concerned with having the means to make a fight happen, Ornn's only mediocre with him because the 2 have relatively low damage but it's enough early on to get a kill on TF's 6

GAME 3

DURING DRAFT

Sneaky & Meteos
  • Sneaky: Cait is really strong with Lux. Good draft so far.
  • Sneaky: Voli top! It's actually pretty good.
    • Meteos: Yeah Voli is pretty nice.
  • Meteos: Sett into Voli.. that.. is kinda bad.
  • Meteos: Seems like last game... 2 bruiser, no true tank comp from TSM.
LS w/ Crownie/Max
  • TSM are going for lane kingdom with this draft so far (first 3 picks both sideS)
  • Max: What the fuck is this blind pick Voli top?
    • LS: Just pick GP. Why blind Voli?
  • Max: if you're going to pick Cait/Lux, don't pair it with Voli/Olaf.
  • LS: Voli/Sylas is one of the worst things... BUT Volibear beats Sett.
  • LS/Max: Actually would've been a decent Aatrox pick in place of Sett for TL. Jax would've been fine too.
Crownie's mic is too quiet
  • Might've picked Voli anticipating Impact's Shen.
  • All: TSM win
Markz:
  • Really smart by TL to leave up Cait/TF and force a hard choice for TSM. Either you give TL the global to shutdown carry top, or give TL the strongest ADC and make it about bot. Never thought I'd see Brokenblade on Voli, but Cait FP and TF makes it hard to play to topside for TSM

DURING GAME

RUNES
LS w/ Crownie, Sanch and Max:
  • Calls Woman to tell her to root for TL harder (her predictions work the opposite way) "Ra ra! TL!" There you go Women. TL is done for now.
  • LS: Why do Volibears keep going Grasp??? (4:30)
    • Max: Good for lane and top laners feel like they need to win the game through lane phase.
  • Crownie: DL has BF Sword and Tactical has boots and long sword.
  • LS: Sett has a better late game than Volibear. Volibear has an oppressive early/mid. Voli can beat Sett late but it depends on runes and builds.
  • LS: TSM are just... dying randomly. what?(~10)
  • Crownie/Max: TSM are pretty behind but Cait can hard carry this game (11:45) Cait up 30 cs with 3 plates.
Sneaky & Meteos:
  • Meteos: Tactical is so fucked after TSM's gank (~4) Boots long sword vs BF sword.
  • Meteos: Spica is going cinderhulk this game instead of warrior. Less of a bruiser route this game. (~7:30)
  • Meteos/Sneaky: Cait can carry, she's 30 cs up. (~12)
  • Meteos: Trinity probably not the best route for BB from behind.
    • Sneaky: Yeah he's over 1k behind. (13min)
  • Sneaky: Really risky fight from TSM at dragon. TSM's win condition is Cait and she's almost at a strong point. (~15) Also Cait didn't mean to hop the wall but it worked out and netted Jensen's flash.
  • Sneaky: Was almost really bad for TL since they're giving drag while they're stronger but TSM troll by fighting. (3rd drag)
  • Meteos: TSM's triple melee comps are pretty troll. You can't play front to back with it.
    • Meteos: The Olaf/Trundle match is also sooo trash for Olaf. You have to be so ahead to be able to do anything. (23)
  • Meteos: TL can just play slow and TSM is fucked. They can just choose not to play in chokes like TSM wants them to (~28min)
  • Sneaky: TSM are attempting to funnel Cait to save the game (29min)
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • TSM simply isn’t as good at mid-game team fighting as FlyQuest; if they try to replicate the FlyQuest formula of beating Team Liquid at bot side 5v5s, they’re unlikely to replicate FlyQuest’s results."
Gilius:
  • Doublelift plays with no cleanse vs Ashe thresh tf? Is that normal
LS:
  • tbh i think this trundle frozen heart buy is pretty sick, and super oppressive. I like that impact has pivoted into tank given the state/trajectory of the game too
    • Cloud9: Fat L for Boris today
Shakarez:
  • Watching CoreJJ is honestly such a treat man (TL 2nd Baron)
    • Azael: One of the world's best supports for sure
Santorin:
  • How broken is Trundle guys? @BroxahLoL smurfing the entire game so far (~21min)

POST GAME

Post Game Stats
TSM Smak:
Azael:
  • TL looks so much more comfortable on the map w/ TF. Broxah unlocking him to roam w/ multiple ganks early this game was such a difference maker & I think going into game 4 TSM will need to force Jensen to show them something different!
  • How you knew it was over for TSM
    • We didn't ask for this power, trust me
    • I'm secretly a TSM hater and knew I could destroy TSM. Check my closet, no TSM merch. Lots of TL merch.
Sneaky/Meteos:
  • There must be something behind the scenes that is making TSM think that these comps are good...
Markz:
  • TSM is really, really overhyped by the community. It's so insane to me. They're a good team, but they're not really as good as the reddit or twitter community thinks they are
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • Free scouting report to Bjergsen and Spica for game 4: Broxah likes to gank mid at 3:00. Try not to let him burn a free Flash this time
  • For real though, in game 3 Jensen pulled the wave so Bjergsen probably knew he could get gabled but he to decide whether it was worth losing XP from a few CS to stand back to avoid it. Good setup. But you'd like to have vision for that scenario.
Emily Rand:
  • Jensen should not be allowed TF again. He'll control the entire game with it and the pick makes up for a general lack of early proactivity from TL.
    • Empyre: it's a cheater pick for them to bypass their early game floundering. Now we'll see how the adapt that playstyle to another comp if they can.
Empyre:
  • Okay let's stop picking Olaf and stop giving TF to Jensen, yeah? The pick is good at cheating timing and getting TL to be proactive in the early game along with the Thresh #LCS
Malaclypse:
  • Please top laners of the world if you're in a draft and Volibear is being hovered and discussed to be played in top lane pull the power cord/modem ASAP I never want to see this useless sack of trash of a champ in top lane again please stop
  • You can blind pick Riven, get a dog to sit in your chair and go for a snack while the dog plays and that dog playing Riven is less of a dog champ than Volibear top, please stop

GAME 4

DURING DRAFT

RUNES
Sneaky/Meteos:
  • The Zilean pick from Jensen was something personal
  • TSM reversing their strategy from previous games and are deciding to put a top laner in the jungle
  • Meteos: It's a decent pick (Shen Jungle) Not bad clear. Slow champion though.
  • Sneaky: TL won draft.
  • Meteos: Not sure, TL is basically all AP.
Empyre:
  • Lillia+Zilean has potentially OP synergy I think with extra speed on Lillia and sleep setting up for Zilean bombs.
  • RIVER SHEN
Azael:
  • Jungle Shen is a lot of fun but it's clear is honestly so bad you're going to get completely outpaced by Lillia. If you don't fall behind early it's a great counter ganker & clear speed goes way up on cinderhulk so I'm excited to see how he does!
T1 LoL (Twitter):
  • Why is there a Shen in the Jungle
C9 Jack:
  • For @Jensen and @Impact , let’s go Liquid!
Pastrytime:
  • LILIA IS HYPE AND ALL BUT RIVER SHEN DEMANDS FIVE GAMES FOR THE PEOPLE.
Dash:
  • RIVER SHEN!!
Markz:
  • River shen.
Malaclyse:
  • River Shen
  • But how does TSM kill Ornn past 2 items
  • Besides Ornn wintrading
Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • TSM need to go back to strong bot side. Been saying it for weeks now. If Broken Blade is losing lane to Impact, you're doomed. And don't let Broxah gank Bjergsen so easily. Bjergsen has to manage lane state better and Spica needs to cover him. TSM can def. bring this to 5.
  • Hm. Broken Blade can be good, and gets lane prio. Might work. But as a general approach it's not what I want from TSM. Or... support Shen? :P
  • Wait... that's not Support Shen. That's... jungle Shen?

DURING GAME

Sneaky & Meteos (LS went to bed):
  • Meteos: Spica slightly ahead of Lilia in early farm (3:30)
  • Sneaky: TSM bot lane use both summs and both die. It's not looking good for TSM (double kill bot) But Impact doesn't consider Shen ult and ults into BB to die.
  • Meteos: The way they died was really troll. It's like they forgot they were playing against Ashe by backing where they did.
  • Sneaky: Whoever goes for Herald in every game gets fucked.
  • Bjerg doesn't flash the hook and barely dies to Zil bomb. TL's comp doesn't have any damage at this point though so they just lose the team fight and dragon.
  • Sneaky/Meteos: BLOCK THE HOOK (25:40) Really troll from Spica
  • Doublelift infinitely scales. TSM has a chance
  • Jensen saving ult and face checking the bush means TSM can end the game.
  • Doublelift hard carried those last couple of fights.
Empyre:
  • TL just inted the game away for a random dragon when it was 4v5. Same mistakes over and over with the overcontest at objectives. (~15)
  • ANOTHER ONE (The DJ Khaled gif)

Tim Sevenhuysen:
  • Biofrost Rakan doing some work. TL aren't respecting it and he's punishing them nicely, catching Tactical in so many fights. #LCS (~20)
  • Core J J (Bjerg dies by getting hooked before drag)
Pastrytime:
  • THAT WAS NOT A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF CC (Bjerg dying before drag)
IWD:
  • ah I guess bjergsen didn't 1v9 playoffs hard enough for his teammates to want to block an ability for him unlucky
Dunc:
  • Shen + Rakan is the most busted combo in League of Legends.
Shakarez:
  • Oh shit Doublelift found Edge of Night in the shop it's over (~11min)
  • These team fights are SOOO LONG with TSM just kiting & unable to punch through thr TL Frontline + Zilean ults. TL also struggling to reach backline means it takes them so long to finish off fights & they just keep extending! HYPE GAME 4! (~33)

  • Broxah hard trolls the gank top lane. Spent so long on that gank and GP had to flash. Becomes a 1 for and Bjerg gets the kill.
    • Slightly bad for BB though since GP now has a sheen.
  • TSM trade ocean for bio's life. Probably better for TSM. Got Jensen's TP too. Would've been worse for TSM if DL got zoned away from bot wave.
  • Bio died for a ward that doesn't really do anything and BB didn't have any boots so he was too slow to collapse on TL after his TP (Infernal 1)
  • Broxah completes Umbral (15) Goodbye to all your vision.
  • Sneaky: Game is about even... except Jungle is ahead by 2k gold
  • Meteos: Game is going to be really hard for TSM to win without Irelia being really strong.
  • couldn't focus on rest of notes

POST SERIES

INTERVIEW WITH SPICA

  • It was really stressful but we're really mentally resilient.
  • I just suck at Olaf so we just stopped picking it. (lol) Picked champs with agency that can dominate early.
  • Shen is a really good early ganker. 2/3 is really strong and level 6 ult is the strongest ability in the game. Really good pick for me.
  • First split of LCS (youngest player in the League too), teammates are really good and we're all trying our best to do our fair share.
  • FLY/TL have similar playstyles. FLY is better than TL for sure cause they beat them.

OTHERS

Nelson Sng (LNG Esports Coach):
  • I think Spica is insane and is gonna be the next best jungler in NA
Travis Gafford:
  • So cool that, since summer 2015, Peter has been to the finals of every LCS split he decided to participate in. : ^ )
Malaclypse:
IWD:
  • Welp LS and I agreed on TSM winning the series on Facecheck and it went completely according to planned. Was fairly obvious the Shen jungle was going to be the decider here when analyzing both teams tendencies under a microscope.
  • Its kinda weird that when you correctly predict TSM winning a series you still just get spammed with "HAHAHA HOW SALTY ARE YOU THAT TSM IS IN FINALS." Yeah man I just hate when my predictions end up being correct
  • Its actually weird how people's perception of the series went. Felt like it was mainly big over performance from bot lane from TSM. They were looking like the weakest link of the team going into the series and TL's bot was their strongest.
  • that being said the TSM bot lane hard stepped up and really swung the series into their favor. I'd say mid was relatively even as well as jungle, with top going better for TL than expected.
Shakarez:
  • Ultimately I think it'll be good for TL to go through play-ins first to hopefully figure out the meta. They really got exposed in the last 2 bo5's
Captain Flowers:
  • I'm really happy with that as my last #LCS cast of Summer Split 2020! I remember back when I was brand new and trying to make it into the League scene, the #1 dude I wanted to work with was @esports_kobe and now we've got a whole collection of series together. GG buddy!
Empyre:
  • Lastly, I hope we can celebrate both Bjergsen and Jensen for being great players and giving us a rivalry to enjoy in NA the past several seasons and hopefully several more.
  • TSM hard snowballing and getting more confident with every series. You can see DL playing better and they are refining their drafts with more options (River Shen today). They still have flaws in the midgame (e.g. positional errors that better teams will punish more heavily).
  • It's good for NA that TL's weaknesses got exposed in playoffs (partly due to meta shift). They would have been a bad champion representative. NA really wants a team like G2/Damwon/TOP/Old IG to motivate and inspire the region's teams/fans/players. It felt like TL tried to force out their scaling image in playoffs by being randomly/thoughtlessly aggressive around objectives, but it heavily backfired. They now have time and the play-in process to figure out these issues and I hope they do
Kobe:
  • Special shout out to @Spicalol for accepting the Defense Against the Dark Arts position of JG at @TSM and smurfing in the #LCS playoffs as the youngest player here!
    • Pastrytime: Spica to the LCS crowd was a forgettable Academy player who was put into his first LCS playoffs in a very difficult spot. Now he's looking stronger than ever on route to this first Finals and I'm very glad that his talent is slowly but surely getting recognized.
  • A lot of review for @TeamLiquidLoL from both their playoff series but I have confidence they will work through it and make it through the play-in stages to meet us all in groups once again. Good luck and practice hard!
Cloud9:
  • At least we can say that we lost to the #LCS Champions now
Azael:
  • We have the finest analytical minds in the business on the desk & I never doubted their consistently flawless predictions even for a second.
    • Dash: Only the best on the #LCS
  • Scroll of Truth Meme
    • Doublelift: HAHA
  • TL: Doesn't unplug Bjergsens PC to stop him from double clicking the League of Legends icon on his Desktop Bjergsen: okay, get in. Spongebob Coffin Meme
Robert Yip (Performance Coach for Misfits):
  • There is a certain quality in a player that when adversity hits they have an extra gear. They just refuse to get drawn into negative thoughts. Really seems like Bjergsen has this quality in spades. The current TSM look like they are more outgoing + self confident individually
T1 Esports:
  • Why did jungle Shen win the series

S11 AP Varus build.

I haven't played Varus prior to his mini re-work, so I'm not entirely sure what's changed from before. Although I've found AP works so well with this champion, that I'm surprised no one else is abusing this build. I'll explain the build first and elaborate on the playstyle below.

Basically, what scales with AP in his kit:
- The on-hit bonus magic damage from his W's passive;
- The detonation of blight stacks from his W's passive;
- His ult.

There are 2 options for runes:
1) SORCERY: Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Gathering Storm (for mid-late game) or Scorch (for early game) // PRECISION: Triumph, Bloodline // +18 adaptative force, + armor or mr depending on the lane.
2) DOMINATION: Dark Harvest, Taste of Blood, Eyeball Collection, Ravenous Hunter // SORCERY: Manaflow Band, Transcendence.

The two options function similarly, but I prefer Comet for its early value and area damage during TFs, whereas DH needs to stack. DH, however, when stacked has greater value late game. Both scale with AP as well, although Comet scales better.

Now items:
You want to star with Doran's Ring and 2 potions.
Then you build:
Luden's Tempest > Sorcerer's Shoes > Nashor's Tooth > Rylai's Crystal Scepter (or Morellonomicon) > Void Staff > Rabadon's Deathcap.
You can change the order as you see fitting. If they're building Magic Resistance, might as well build Void Staff earlier. If they have a lot of healing or regeneration, you replace Rylai for a Morellonomicon).

Playstyle: with this build the core of your damage will come from abilities. You'll have great AP (much more than you can achieve with AD currently) and enough AH that you can spam abilities (not to mention after his rework detonating blight stacks now lowers cooldowns). Your basic attacks only serve as means to build blight stacks, although mid-late game you'll be dealing decent damage due to the bonus magic damage from your W's passive and on-hit from items. You can actually play like an assassin and catch people by surprise with this combo: R, W, Q max charge, Shoot. What does it do: your ult stuns them and applies full blight stacks, W empowers your arrow, Q to charge the arrow and shoot. It deals tons of damage because of the blight denotation and will actually lower your cooldown, allowing you to shoot another arrow in no time. Try it out in the practice tool and see for yourself.

Every time I play this build, people think I'm trolling. Until they start seeing the potential. Go check it out for yourselves!

I wanted to learn more about Varus!

Hi, well I have had a lot of fun playing Varus, I started playing mid with him, then ADC and support but all of them with lethality or attack speed. I wanted to learn more about how Varus ap works for example, or which items / runes are most effective.

League of legends has too much healing and few effective methods to counter it

First of all apologies for the English, I am not a native speaker. This post is just to create some positive confrontation about healing in league of legends, I would like to hear which opinion is prevalent among the community.
Lately the feeling of "too much healing" has surpassed the threshold. I dread every single time I see someone who relies on healing. Maokai, Yuumi, Soraka, vlad...etc
I am not against "healing" itself, it's clearly a mechanic in the game and it has its place (like countering the insane amount of cc), but I think it's a bit excessive atm. There should be a more efficient methods of dealing with it. Certainly grievous wounds is a great way to do so, or so it was. I just feel the overall healing in the game has surpassed and out-scaled the ways of countering it. With such prevalence of runes that give you sustain, the anti-heal values are worth a lot less.
- First problem: I think it's just that sometimes playing against healing is just unfun. Enemy adc commits a mistake, gets punished for it, yuumi presses e and it's like nothing happened. Top laner goes for a trade, 10 seconds of fight and then they are both back at full health. Mid lane poke mage hits a few skillshot, supposedly taking an advantage against enemy laner, vlad q's minions 3 times and he is back to full health whereas I am out of a mana.
some of these examples may sound "oh jeez healing broken, me noob", but they are just scenarios where healing is just not a fun mechanic. That said I am also probably a noob.
- Second problem: let's say I am playing an ap champion against a champion that relies on healing. The item I need to build is morello, however to have any form of anti healing on morello I need to build the entire item, whereas if I was an adc/tank/bruiser champ I could just build executioner or bramble vest and some form of effect for relatively cheap. so there is no effective anti heal for ap champs other than ignite.
- Third problem: a while ago I played, my botlane was against yuumi. they rushed executioner, however Yuumi healed more than our entire team output damage combined, despite us having healing reduction items.
- Fourth problem: I think there are only 3 abilities that apply grievous wounds incorporated in a champion's kit. Varus' E, kata's R and Kled'Q. Whereas there are 43 (I did a quick count not precise) healing abilities/passive. plus 14 (?) runes that have something to do with healing. I won't add ocean drake and soul, as I am guessing you get the idea by now.
-Bonus problem: there is very little legitimate counter to shields as well. I think they are much less problematic as they tend to be temporary and require good timing to use in certain situations. I believe Renekton (and maybe Irelia) were the only two champions that have an ability countering shields. That makes a total of 2 champs that have abilities that somewhat counter shield. However there are 38 shield abilities.
By providing the number of healing and shielding abilities I don't mean to have an equivalent number of anti shield/grievous wounds ones. It's just the numbers really made me think how prevalent healing and shield are.
I haven't mentioned ignite, because it is such a big cd and because most times, it's a must take, regardless of healing no healing. It's just used as an aggressive rune imo.
While writing this all I could about was this

Player/Analyst Tweets & Other Things - TSM vs C9 (Week 5, Game 1)

Edit: Tweets done for now. Will check again to update later. GG, have a good day everyone!

GG C9! TSM 0-1 C9 Close Banger.

If any tweets/players/analysts should be added let me know. For tweets specifically try to wait a bit after the game since I'm updating it manually.
Zven Post-Game Interview:
  • TSM BY-FAR the 2nd best team (judged from scrims)
  • TL are really lucky to be 6-2.
  • EG/FLY/TL are very on-off (look good/look terrible)
  • TSM are like discount C9 and are getting better every week.

    • 2016 TSM << 2020 C9 [greater, more dominant wins]
    • Peak Doublelift << Peak Zven [greater, Zven better international performances.]
    • All Bjerg Team >< All Nisqy Team [1:1, Kobe says it's tough and picks Nisqy to balance it out]
  • Analyst Desk
    • Licorice is looking very dominant. (highest csd by far 21.9@15, 2nd highest is Kumo 3.1csd. 1st in K/A@15 (3.3), 1st in DPM (528/min)). Prioritizes 1v1 custom games/practice mode and it's showing great results.
    • Bjerg is a better solo carry than Nisqy and has been stepping it up this split.
    • Nisqy has a different playstyle/role in the team compared to Bjerg so it's hard to compare. Plays more around his jungler. Different expectations for both midlaners.
    • Both bot lanes are playing well but DL is leading the League in deaths at the marksmen position. (18)

Azael:
  • Cloud9 & TSM are about to play some league of legends. I am very excited.
Veigarv2:
  • TSM VS C9 Lets go! :)

DURING DRAFT

TSM🙂 Voyboy
  • Strong draft from C9. Bjerg basically has to smurf on Leblanc.
LS
  • TSM's draft is shit - LS, Sanchovies, Crownie
  • Why is there a LB/Morde on the same team??
  • Why Bard when C9 already want MR.
  • Why Bard w/ Morde when C9 already want to get QSS for Morde.
  • Why Voli when the lanes don't work well with his ganks.
IWD
  • Morde is good into Wukong
  • Most likely Vulcan Wukong
  • Voli/Varus 1/2 picks are really strong.
  • Tahm ban is a smart ban. Bard doesn't guarantee the protection from Senna/Wukong.
  • Thinks the Morde picks makes TSM's comp too AP heavy.
Veteran:
  • Imagine first picking Wukong and having the enemy autolock Varus into you with Senna open. Holy fuck. #LCS
Treatz:
  • Let's see if Zven and Vulcan can have more success on the Senna Wukong than me and Lost 😤
Amazing:
  • Zven's champion ocean at this point is pretty incredible. He was quick to pick up off meta champions before already, but he's really ascending in that regard on C9 these days

DURING GAME

RUNE INFO
IWD (Stream):
  • C9 Won Draft. Triple AP top-side into Ornn is bad.
  • Leblanc/Varus are burst champs. Enemy frontline is Sett/Ornn/Wukong. Doesn't see how they can reliably kill them later on.
  • TSM up drag and 1.5k at 13min isn't enough VS Ornn/Sett/Wukong.
  • Thinks Inferno Soul might not even be enough.
  • Nisqy style fits Zoe/Rumble/Galio/etc. Azir doesn't really fit his playstyle.
  • Ornn about to become unkillable entering mid-game.
  • Licorice is officially beyond unkillable (21min)
  • Only counter to Wukong now is Morde ult and Wukong just built QSS (24min)
Treatz:
  • Bjerg is so fuckin clean (1v1 solo on Nisqy)
  • Veigarv2: yep!
Goldenglue:
  • Im loving this tsm c9 match right now (~11min)
Akaadian:
  • Every time the camera pans to licorice he’s taking heads off on ornn??
Empyre (EG Analyst):
  • Licorice 1v9 carrying on Ornn while countered.
LS:
  • hmm I think Blaber should just have skipped jungle item (except for blue smite) and get sunfire for more value when it can be upgraded into forgefire cape later via ornn.
  • This spot is interesting to me cause it's not everyday a tank jungler champ can do this itemization path while having an ornn on the team, so it's pretty unique :D
C9 Jack:

POST GAME

OTHERS

Cloud9:
C9 Jack:
  • #TSMXD
  • Kobe: Congrats on the 3-0 😘
  • GG @TSM and Congrats C9 LCS! That was the final game of the TSM vs C9 Rivalry Weekend. Final score is 4-0 for C9 including Valorant. Even though the final score was one sided every game was competitive and fun to watch.
C9 Twitter: Shutting up TSM chants never gets old 🙌
Zven:
Blaber:
  • XDDD IM INTING
  • Santorin: Respectable letting Zven play the game once in a while 😏
Licorice:
  • Haven’t practiced ornn in weeks but he is burned into my soul
  • Azael: champ is op or what?
  • Lico: Mega outdraft, clean execution, Felt good
Reapered:
  • Gg @TSM it was fun game to watch
Nisqy:
  • I got solo killed AMA 🤡
  • Licorice: Thanks bro.
  • Yassuo: Getting carried again, kinda sad at this point man. Step it up
Vulcan:
  • even i can play senna XD
LS:
  • Its insane to me that TSMs draft losses (not that it means they will lose the game)can be pointed out in real time,& yet theres 7 ppl(?) in the room somehow constructing them. Given the players are good, its nuts to me that they so often opt into high variance/responsbility draft
LCS:
  • In the Match of the Week, @Cloud9 defeats @TSM . C9 remains undefeated in the #LCS Summer Split
Captain Flowers:
  • C9 makes NA Doublelift look like Worlds Doublelift. #LCS
Goldenglue:
  • What is @JackEtienne feeding these boys??
  • DISCOUNT C9 IM DEAD
Westrice:
  • GG WP @TSM after that game, I think its clear they are a 2nd place team, but having LB as your only win condition was a big mistake in draft. GGWP again.
Veigarv2
  • GG
Dash
  • They're. Just. Too. Good.
Kobe:
  • I want to see @Cloud9 at Worlds SOOOOOOO badly! Flawless first half of Summer 9-0

The only buff Kaisa needs is not fucking ranged.....

It's revert her god damn Passive. Period, that's it. That in conjunction with the guinsoos nerfs is why she's been put into such a weird spot where she doesnt seem to outscale anybody or feel really strong at any point in the game
Before she was a versatile ADC who still offered great skill expression through her risky playstyle which is a direct result of her short range, it's part of her identity, buffing her range is simply stupid.
Her 3 main styles are:
2 out of 3 of those styles have been completely removed due to her passive/guinsoos being nerfed. Now with a full 6 stack guinsoos, you can't dive backline and just assume you're gonna pop off before and you also can't shred tanks half as well as you used to.
Which leaves only the AP build as the viable one which does what exactly? Make her a shittier ezreal?
She simply does not feel stronger than any other ADC at any stage of the game. Why would you pick her now when Vayne for example has a stronger mid game and far stronger late game? Why pick her over Ezreal who seemingly beats her at all stages as well, even late game due to how insanely tanky he gets.
There's simply no reason to pick her. Right now, with the insane amount of tankiness/sustain in the game with items like Deaths Dance for example being used on everybody, there's no reason to not revert her passive or even guinsoos. No reason at all. I get why they nerfed it before, but that was before this disgusting sustain creep that has been slowly coming into the game with runes like Conqueror, with items like Deaths Dance and with cancer champs like Yuumi.
Shit, reverting guinsoos would even fix champs like Varus/Kog'Maw who have been forced off the more traditional on-hit builds and pushed into super cancer off screen poke builds like lethality Varus and AP Kog'Maw. It just makes too much sense and that's why Riot won't do it. Instead, they'll nerf more ADCs (because ADCs being strong is the problem /s) and keep slowly buffing Kai'sas numbers until she becomes the only strong ADC who is now overtuned which will result in her getting gutted again.

TL;DR REVERT HER PASSIVE AND MAYBE REVERT GUINSOOS ALSO. THE NERFS MADE SENSE WHEN THEY HAPPENED BUT THE GAME HAS CHANGED DRAMATICALLY WITH THE AMOUNT OF TANKINESS/SUSTAIN YOU GET WITH RUNES/ITEMS/CHAMPIONS LIKE DEATHS DANCE/CONQUEROR AND YUUMI.

3300 MMR EUW aram tips

Just reached 3376 mmr today and this is my aram only smurf https://euw.whatismymmr.com/magiclemann, My main was D2 in SR but I enjoy playing aram much more.
I'd like to share a few less known tips for those who try hard or simply enjoy winning. I'm not gonna list the basic tips so if you don't understand how to engage vs a poke comp or why you should not stay alive at 30% hp mid-late game this thread is not the right one for you. I mostly play adcs in aram so I'll start here:
As for ranking, Sivir is the best adc in aram in most situations. If you don't have a support, mf, lucian and quinn are all very strong individual carries. With one or more enchanters, kogmaw, vayne and jinx and on-hit varus are the strongest. Cait is, contrary to common belief, not always good because when enemies constantly engage on you she doesn't have a lot of damage mid game. Ashe is pretty good because of the utility she offers to the team. Corki and Ezreal are also strong individual carrys but their power spike comes later at 3 items because tear mostly stacks up when they have 3 items (muramana, trinity force, death dance), and most high mmr aram games end around 3 items. Senna is super strong too but you'd want to have another dps on your team, and aphelios is still 200 years in aram :)

And here are some general tips. Again, these tips are aimed at people who already have a decent understanding of aram.

Season 10 Sona support guide from a 1000 LP Challenger Sona one trick

Patch 10.12 update

On this patch Guardian was changed to be a lot more consistent at the cost of losing the movespeed buff. This makes it a lot easier to use and more fun to play with since you no longer have to position carefully to proc Guardian at the perfect moment. While losing the movespeed buff really sucks in the early game, I believe that the new Guardian is at least as good as the old one and probably a lot better if you were not very experienced with positioning around the old Guardian.
I still probably wouldn't take Guardian against enchanters but there are some new engage matchups where it's usable now. Xayah Rakan for example where previously Xayah feathers would randomly proc your Guardian too much, Alistar where you really didn't want to stand next to your ADC to proc Guardian etc.
They also changed Unflinching but I really see no reason to ever take it on Sona instead of Revitalize, the extra healing and shielding it offers is way too good.

Introduction

Hey, my name is Schuhbart and I'm a high Challenger Sona one trick from the EU west server, currently at 1050 LP. In this guide I will explain to you what runes I use, what items I build and how exactly the different rune choices compare.

Runes

First of all, the runes. I alternate between two rune pages depending on the bot lane matchup:
Aery Inspiration: I take this rune page against bot lanes where I need Aery shield and the mana from Manaflow Band against poke. You can take the scaling CDR shard against matchups where you really want to just afk scale in the early game like Senna + Tahm.
The rune page itself is quite self explanatory. Aery is a good Rune for enchanters, Manaflow Band gives you mana, Transcendence allows you to reach 45% cdr faster, Gathering Storm gives massive AP. Magic boots allow you to rush Archangel's Staff directly without needing to spend 300g on boots and Cosmic Insight is very powerful with max cdr and infinite mana, increasing your amount of spell casts by 9.1% as you go from 40% to 45% cdr.
Guardian Inspiration: This is my preferred rune page and I take it whenever I don't need Aery against poke. You can take Bone Plating instead of Conditioning for more tankiness early game if you think that it won't be procced randomly.
Guardian was changed in patch 10.12 and now I would recommend it even more, if you previously tried Guardian against engage supports but found it too difficult to proc consistently I would really suggest you give it another try because it's super easy to use now.
Guardian's shield is very useful when someone tries to engage on you and the combination of Seraph's shield, Guardian itself, Conditioning and Revitalize make you extremely difficult to kill in teamfights while Revitalize also adds a lot of healing and shielding to your teammates. Due to the mana changes from patch 10.4 you no longer need mana from runes if you go Archangel's, meaning that you are free to take Magic Boots and Cosmic Insight secondary like with Aery. (More information on the mana changes below)
Note that your W does NOT proc Guardian. You need to stand close to an ally for it to work, the range is the same as your auras which is really convenient because that's where you want to stand anyway. Previously this was kind of a pain but now with the increased range it doesn't change your positioning too much, if you have Guardian in the back of your mind you should be able to have it proc in every single fight where it's up.

Items

I have made an item set for this exact build which you can find here: https://pastebin.com/sBT6BGmT
If you want to use it simply copy the text, go to Collection > Items in the client, press the "Import item sets" button, click "paste a copied set" and paste it in the box that appears.

Starting items

Start Spellthief's and two pots always. Relic shield is not good on Sona anymore with the added mana regen on Spellthief's.

First item

Rush Archangel staff. This item is pretty useless at first but once you get the Seraph's transformation it becomes incredibly powerful. Most of the time you will want to go Tear first for the faster scaling and mana pool but if you are fighting a lot and don't really need mana then you can also buy an Amplifying tome or two before buying Tear. If you decide to do that, I would recommend buying Tear before finishing Lost Chapter to not delay your scaling by too much.

Second item

As your second item you will want to buy Athene's Unholy Grail in 95% of games or Zhonya's Hourglass if you really need the armor and active against AD Assassins and can afford its premium price.
If you have Guardian you will not have Transcendence, meaning that with just Archangel's and Athene's you will need another 10% CDR to reach the cap. With Guardian I like to buy Fiendish Codex and Boots of Lucidity (the CDR boots) before finishing the Athene's. This delays your Athene's powerspike by 600 gold but is much stronger than having Codex + Null Magic mantle. If you have Guardian and want to build Ardent or Zhonya's as your third item then you probably won't want to buy CDR boots as to not overcap your CDR.

Third item

The ideal third item with this build is Mejai's Soulstealer. You gain stacks easily by tagging allies with your auras and with the active shield from Seraph's Embrace and the defensive stats from your second item you are very difficult to kill, making it easy to retain the stacks once you have acquired them. The ideal timing for purchasing Dark Seal really depends on the game - you will want to buy it as soon as you are in a position where you can win fights or at least get a few kills without dying.
Alternative third items are Ardent Censer (if your team uses it well) and Zhonya's (if you need it and have the gold for it). You could also go Rabadon's Deathcap third item but Mejai's would be a better purchase if you are getting enough kills to be able to afford Deathcap.

Fourth item

At this point you will really want a Deathcap to synergize with the massive AP from the rest of your build.

What about boots?

If I don't need CDR boots to reach the 45% cap I usually don't upgrade my boots unless I really want the armor from Ninja Tabi's or the MR and Tenacity from Mercury's Treads.
Merc's are actually a really great item in some games. for example if you are against a Syndra, Varus, Leona, Ekko, etc. and are scared of them killing you then they are really useful.

Items that I really don't like and that you probably should not build

Full build examples

For some examples of full builds with this setup you can look at my main accounts and my smurf account.

A comparison of Guardian and Aery

I will first list some benefits of both pages and then sum them up.
Guardian is much better against the level 1 engage from a support like Rakan, Nautilus or Thresh. With the big shield on both you and your ADC you will probably win the trade and the movespeed also helps you with running away.
Aery is a lot better against sustained poke, both with its low cooldown shield and the mana from Manaflow Band which allows you to use W more frequently after your first back.
Aery allows you to play a lot more aggressively after your first back with the mana from Manaflow Band and it also adds a marginal amount of damage to your trades. This mana also helps you complete your Archangel's stacking a bit faster.
Aery has Transcendence, meaning that you reach your Archangel's + Athene's + 45% CDR powerspike 600 gold sooner.
Guardian's shield and Conditioning's resistances (or Bone Plating) increase your survivability massively which is especially important in the later stages of the game, where the enemy's win condition increasingly becomes "kill the Sona".
Guardian has Revitalize, which increases your healing and shielding by a lot more than the AP from Gathering Storm, especially if the targets are below 40% hp. This is true even with the 48 AP from Gathering Storm at 30 minutes.
To summarize: Guardian is better level 1, then Aery is better in the mid game, and finally Guardian hard outscales Aery once you get Archangel's + Athene's + 45% CDR. Aery is more aggressive while Guardian is more passive and scaling oriented.

Playstyle advice

With Archangel's as your first item you are very weak until you complete the Seraph's transformation. This means two things: You will want to stack it as much as possible and avoid forcing fights before you get your Seraph's. Make sure to always tag an ally with your spells to get the mana refund.
You have a gigantic powerspike once you reach level 11, Seraph's transformation, Athene's and 45% CDR. At this point you can straight up ARAM with your team and you should win most fights unless you get flanked or your team splits up so your auras dont get value. Try to play fights slowly to utilize your heavy sustain in extended fights.

Why Archangel's rush now?

In patch 10.4 they added a mechanic to disincentivize Sona from being played in a solo lane. They increased the mana costs of her basic abilities by 25 but made them restore 30 mana if they tagged at least one ally, so it would have no impact on the support role where you tag your lane partner most of the time. With the respective 10% / 25% mana refund of Tear and Archangel's Staff however this change gives you a huge net positive of mana, reducing spell costs by a total of 7.5 mana or 11.25 mana respectively if you have Tear or Archangel's and tag an ally. With this extra mana pool it becomes a lot easier to stack Tear and it also is not as punishing when you have to use some spells without an ally nearby.

What about the Dark Harvest Lich Bane rush build?

I'm not a big fan of Dark Harvest anymore and would much rather go Guardian + Archangel's rush in the matchups where I would previously have opted for the Dark Harvest build. It's a lot more consistent of a build and better overall I think.

Conclusion

I think that's it! Thanks for reading and I wish you the best of luck and success with this build. If you have any questions that were not answered in this post please ask.

Current state of Lucian - Worse than ever? (10.11 Getting even worse?)

Hey guys,
Adc/Lucian-Main here:
After a comeback to rankeds and several trys with Lucian I just feel like my/ our Main really is in the worst spot he ever was. Even though I enjoy playing Lucian, I currently feel like I´m not or just can´t enjoy playing League with him. I mean - he´s created to be a Spellcaster-Adc, a mobile Adc and a lanebully. Guess at least the last one is definitely not true anymore.
Wo is he actually supposed to bully? Every current meta Adc/Supp is going outrange - hell, even outdamage - him and the lack of Sustain (old Relic/Runes etc.) is hitting him so hard. Forced to build Botrk even though I would say other Items would synergize better with him cause he can´t get max out of his passive (missing Ad/ Cdr - I would really like a item with lifesteal, ad and 20 cdr).
I tried Bloodline+ER recently, but guess it just can´t compensate the huge disadvantages you are facing in lane. Even though I like the AD-spike from EIE.
Senna, Ashe, Caitlyn, Vayne, Lethality-Varus. Mf. Jhin. It´s just unsatisfying unless your enemy offers you some mistakes.
I just feel like he´s at his worst he ever was and there´s like no way he will come back soon. Looking at patch 10.11/12:
Nearly every adc - except Lucian - is going to receive additional 30 HP(+ 2/lvl). Seriously? A lane bully, being at the bottom, now has to face even early stronger enemy adcs? Why not remove him completely?
Is there even a way to get him back where he should be without going the way of a rework? Guess else he will be abused in Mid/Top over and over again, so Riot just decideds to hold him down as far as possible, because his kit has the potential to go crazy too fast?

Actually I just can´t believe it´s the same champion I tried and learned to love again after release. Riot just liteally shut down every single ability from him and since months I didn´t even hear a single sentence that they are looking forward to bring him back into a position which will allows him to face current botlaners on an equal level again.
I just wish they could bring a single one of his nature abilites, but seems like the offrole-usage of Lucian somehow finally killed him. Look at his abilites now and years ago:
Q - This ability back in the days had 50 more Castrange and 200 (!) total range. Compared with the early, slow animation his kit actually has no way to even trade safely anymore.
W - Why they removed the AD-Scaling and changed to AP? Isn´t he meant to be a caster? In combination with the mana-cost this spell is only used to maximize damage in an all-in scenario. I wouldn´t care if they`d removre the movespeed of sec instead.
E - This skill was once upon a time his signature move. A skill which made him the most mobile adc in the game and even could remove slows. Maybe some won´t even know that it also had no manacosts. Mabye this was a bit too op. But now it´s just so hard to punish when he uses his E and without 40 CDR, which only will come with some trade-off, there is no live where he even nearly is the unique mobile adc Riot promised.
R - When comparing early days and now this ability actually feels like it got veven hit the most. Which is a statement compared to the other changes. But they literally shut down this ability to nearly one of the weakest ultimates ingame. Nerfing range. Nerfing attackspeed scaling. And damn - even nerfing the damage of his damage vs. minions? U could just randomly disappear behind one or two melee minions and guarantue you are safe. This whole spell could also be removed. No damage. No utility. No range. No Dps. Nothing. Only usage is a situation where you are running out of mana and can´t hold ur spell rotation.
Attack range - Hell yeah. And guess what really hit him was also the nerf to his attack range. 550 down to 500? Come on - is he going to be a melee champ in future?

He literally has no range to be any threat from distance. He hasn´t by far the mobility to get in and out fast as he actually should be. And he has no damage to be a real threat to several other adcs at many stages of the game. Isn´t he supposed to be a duelist?

What is his actual role in this game right now? How are you guys able to enjoy Lucian and League at the same time right now?
And do you think he will ever find a place at the top tier list again? How you think Riot could achieve this? Or maybe someone even knows if Riot is looking deeper at him right now?
Cause personally it feels really sad to play your main champion who lost everything which made him unique and ofc also strong back in the days and I really hope he will find a meaningful way back into meta soon.

I need help, and answers.

So, I'm a 44 lvl fiddlesticks main. But even after 44 lvl, I still don't feel like I can play this game. A lot of my games end with 7-11 deaths, 5-6 kills and lots of assists. I wanna ask:
  1. How to play AP characters like Fiddlesticks, Lux (mid), Ahri?
  2. How to play characters like Vayne, Varus, Riven?
  3. When to gank, and when should I not?
  4. How do you build items, runes?
  5. How to be aggressive as AP?

Arenfall, Archmage of Ruin

Overview

Arenfall is a powerful rune mage, trained by Ryze, who seeks to wield the power of the World Runes (specifically Ruin) to purge Runeterra of evil.
Arenfall is meant to be a grim reflection of her former master. A mid-range battle mage, but where Ryze pumps out spells like a machine gun, Arenfall makes slower but (potentially) more devastating moves and spends more of her time more like a traditional control mage mid.

Lore

Arenfall was born into a small Freljord hamlet, little more than a handful of families. Like other Frelordians, they were proud and fierce, but content with a humble life in their little corner of the world. That didn't matter to other, larger clans of the north. When Arenfall's village resisted Sejuani and the Winter's Claw, they erased the village and its people from the map. Arenfall only survived due to a fortunate intervention from a traveling Rune Mage, Ryze.
Ryze took pity on the orphan'd Arenfall, seeing much of himself in her. Despite Ryze's conviction to being the sole protector of the World Runes, the loneliness had gotten to him. Ryze raised, and in time, taught Arenfall magic. Together they made more progress than Ryze would ever have on his own.
Until Arenfall learned the story of Tyrus. Tyrus had been Ryze's master, and he believed that the World Runes should be used to make the world a better place. Ryze believed that no person should wield the World Rules, as only destruction could come of it. Ryze killed Tyrus to stop him.
Arenfall agreed with Tyrus's perspective. The world was full of evil, like the tribes that killed her family. Like the armies that killed Ryze's family. Demons plagued Runeterra. It wasn't enough to simply hide power from people. Arrenfall and Ryze were complicit to every crime, every murder, every rape that they could have stopped but didn't.
Arenfall stole the World Rune of Ruin, and with it managed to surprise and overpower Ryze who barely escaped by warping far away. And so began Arenfall's purge of Runterra.

[Passive] - Echo of Ruin

1.5 seconds after Arenfall casts an ability, a secondary explosion erupts at the target location damaging all enemies.
AoE Damage (Magic)
200 (MF Make it Rain size) 25 - 110 (Levels 1-18) + (6% of Max HP (+3% per 100 AP) ) Example: Level 11, 300 AP To 2.5k HP tank = 450 magic damage To 1.2k HP ADC = 255 magic damage
Goals: 1. A timed AoE explosion set to a location seems very runic themed to me 2. Make Arenfall's foes constantly on the run in fights to support narrative 3. Give her that waveclear critical to immobile mage mids 4. More dangerous to tanks (who are the most likely to survive AND stay in the same place for 1.5 seconds)

[Q] - Expel

Arenfall channels for 1.5 seconds (get used to seeing this number) before shooting a blast in target direction damaging all enemies it travels through. While channeling, Arenfall draws runes in the air in front of her, facing the target direction. (This is true of most of her abilities)
Cooldown 1 second (after channel ends) Target Range 1000 (Same as Ryze Q)
Cost 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 Mana Projectile Speed 2500 (Similar to Caitlyn Q)
Damage (Magic) 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 + (75% AP) Projectile Width 200 (Similar to Kayn W)
Flux Bonus (See E) Additional 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 + (25% AP) Magic Damage Notes: Expel is a line projectile, but it procs Echo of Ruin at the location targeted when casted.
Goals: 1. A spammable spell that feels unique. Arenfall may be able to cast Expel every second, but doing so locks her in place for 1.5 seconds. 2. A spammable spell that is hard to turn into harass. In open lane fights, without CC, Expel should be very hard to land on an opponent (Like Sion Q) 3. Waveclear. So much waveclear.

[W] - Ruin Prison

Arenfall channels for 1.5 seconds before shooting a homing projectile at target enemy. Target and all enemies caught in the effect radius take damage and are slowed. If the target leaves Ruin Prison's cast range before Arenfall finishes casting, the ability fails and Arenfall is refunded 50% of the cooldown.
Cooldown 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8 seconds Cast Range 750 (Similar to Cait Range)
Cost 50 / 65 / 80 / 95 / 110 Mana Effect Radius 200 (Karma Q)
Damage (Magic) 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 + (50% AP) Slow Amount 50%
Flux Bonus (See E) Ruin Prison's slow is converted to a stun for the same duration Slow Duration 1.2 / 1.4 / 1.6 / 1.8 / 2 seconds
Goals: 1. She needs a way to help herself land Q's without guaranteeing harass in the lane phase. 2. Mind games. Is Arenfall channeling a Q or a W? Do I need to sidestep or do I need to run out of her cast range? 3. A point and click ability with counterplay. Run or Stun before it hits.

[E] - Flux Field

Arenfall supersaturates an area with magic, causing an explosion immediately, and every 1.5 seconds afterwords for 4.5 seconds (4 total). Enemies damaged by Flux Field are marked with Flux for 3 seconds, which is consumed to enhance Arenfall's other abilities. Enemies caught in the center of the field take extra damage (+50%). Note: This is the only ability Arenfall does NOT channel.
Cooldown 11 seconds Cast Range 600 (Ashe/Varus Auto range)
Cost 70 Mana Effect Radius 400 (Nasus E)
Magic Damage (per explosion) 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 + (30% AP) Center Radius 200 (Her passive AoE)
Flux Bonus Reduces armor and magic resist by 25% and reapplies Flux Center Bonus +50% damage
Goals: 1. Tie Arenfall to Ryze mechanically and thematically 2. Give Arenfall tools to Zone Control to help her herd enemies into hard to hit Qs, or punish teamfights that take place in choke points. 3. Add to Arenfall's identity that forces enemies to move around or get punished.

[R] - Channel Ruin

Arenfall channels for 1.5 seconds before entering Avatar of Ruin state and blinking to target location, pushing away nearby enemies. Her target location is visible to all players and looks similar to Ryze ult's indicator. During Avatar of Ruin, Arenfall only needs 0.5 seconds to channel her Q and W and reduces all incoming damage.
Cooldown 200 / 160 / 120 Seconds Cast Range 1000 / 2000 / 3000
Cost None Push Radius 500
Duration 6 / 7 / 8 seconds. Takedowns extend the duration of Avatar of Ruin for 4 seconds. Damage Reduction Flat, pre-mitigation reduction: 25 / 40 / 55 (Works like Leona W)
Goals: 1. Boss mode. An obvious switch. With 1.5 second channel times, Arenfall isn't really able to pick fights with other champs. This lets Arenfall, and her enemies, know when she's attempting something more than wavecleapoke.

Conclusion

Arenfall is designed to be a noob-friendly control mage who excels at waveclear and picking the perfect moment for an all-in fight. She's meant to be very weak alone, especially if caught before she has the chance to ult. She is not likely to be a popular design, due to how frustrating being locked into channeling spells can be for many players, but hopefully provides something new to the pool.
I'm worried about a late game Arenfall teleporting on top of you and stunning and chunking you without counterplay, but with the ultimate's push and still a 0.5 second delay it should give players plenty of opportunity to flash out of her stun range.
She's also meant to further develop the world and Ryze, both in kit and lore.
